What's New?
Our latest download, Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori is a touching glimpse into the experiences of the soliders of the First World War. This series of letters from the front powerfully evokes the horrors and emotions of the men who fought and died on the battlefield, focusing on Wilfred Owen’s eternal question, is dying for your country an honour or a curse?
We balance that with a touch of comedy, WTC have teamed up with 13 Pumpkins again to bring you Cock Of The Walk (Part 2) - the first in a two part sketch show from the excellent group who gave you Holy Smoke. If you like what you hear, stay tuned next month for Part 2.
Shame on you if you missed our latest LIVE recording in October - a slight change for us, was an evening of stand up comedy. Seven bright new acts lit up the room with their genius comedy rants - download both hilarious Part 1 and Part 2. We'll be in touch about our next live show which will be taking place on the 16th April 2010 at The Lost Theatre on Wandsworth Road. Details to follow.
What's Next?
Recently, avid WTC supporter Prunella Scales and the wonderful Timothy West came into the studio to record two new plays Seasons by Gareth Parker (Frozen) and On Three by Stuart Price (The Youth of Old Age, The Grimm of Stottesden Hall). A great day was had by all - please take a look at the brilliant photos HERE - both productions will be available for download within a few weeks.
Congratulations to Stuart for winning the 'Best Book' and 'Most Promising New Musical' for Ed - The Musical at this year's (2009) Edinburgh Festival!
Wireless Theatre KIDS is what's next! If you don't want to send your kids to bed watching TV - why not let them listen to an exciting radio play? Our KIDS website will launch very soon, and will have plays and poems and comedy for children of all ages. Keep checking here for updates!
Early 2010 will see Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori by Joe Wells, a collection of monologues based on real letters sent by soliders during the First World War. Febuary sees the recording of The Case of The Tale Told by an Idiot by Bruce Kane and directed by Catriona Ryan, with an exciting new cast. As well as And we will be recording two brilliant new comedies - Gino Ginelli is Dead by comedian Stephen Hill and Galaxycabs by Peter Davis (from Davis & McQuillan!). They will positively rock. As well as ALL that, we are shortly about to start work on WTC's very first series!! How exciting...! In March we will start recording on The Strange Case of Springheel'd Jack. Stay tuned. We can barely contain our excitement!
