Lisa Parry

 

Lisa Parry is a London-based writer and a recent graduate of David Edgar¹s playwriting course at the University of Birmingham. Her poetry and prose has been extensively published in national new writing magazines. Lisa previously read English at Oxford University, after which she worked in journalism, her work appearing in regional and national newspapers.

 

Short play credits include: Mary, Alison (WriteOn! festival of new work, Cambridge); Carpet and Floorboards, Second Life, Happy Birthday Luke (Tara Studio); Angel in the Pub (Word Market literary festival, Cumbria); The Giving of Flowers (Theatre 503, later Sherman Cymru); Throwing Oranges to the Ducks (Shakespearean Globe); From Brum to Manhattan (Theatre 503).

 

Two of Lisa's longer pieces have received rehearsed readings: White Roses (Theatre 503); First Incision (Allardyce Nicoll Studio, Birmingham).

 

Lisa was also a finalist in Stellar Network's international Plays in Progress competition in New York with her piece Going Nova. Tony Award winner Pun Bandhu was one of the judges.
