A Wireless Theatre / JK Music Collaboration

When wannabe rock guitarist and computer wunderkind Norman Goodman accidentally lands an IT job with a low-level City firm in London, his travails are just beginning. Tasked with designing an IT system to predict market trends, but finding himself embroiled in a Machiavellian financial scam, Norman is confronted with a life changing dilemma – who to trust, when all he holds dear is challenged in a morally bankrupt world?

Act Two is Set in 2008, at a time of increasing financial instability, Normanity is a satirical interrogation of corporate corruption and the fragility of our aspirations, conducted with quirky humour and real heart. Featuring a coterie of cracking tunes delivered by a superb cast, this is a musical that deals with universal issues such as love, loss and loneliness in a disarmingly down to earth manner.

ACT TWO: (2008)

Twelve months pass, and Portia’s plan to manipulate the market has worked brilliantly. ‘Butler Corporation’ is making huge amounts of money, well above market expectation, and are about to announce a new investment product – ‘Platinum Returns’.

Norman has been promoted to Manager of IT, his dream of forming a band now in the past. He is under increasing pressure to ensure that the computer system can handle the increased volume in data for Platinum returns. However, while looking at how to do this, he discovers that the system is manipulated and that all the investors could lose everything.

Norman confronts Portia who reveals her plan to him. She tells Norman that unless he goes along with it, she will destroy him. In an attempt to blow the whistle, Norman seizes one of the servers which contain all the evidence of the scam and makes a run for it. A chase follows and as a result he slips and falls from a window, bangs his head, and is knocked unconscious. Norman has a near death experience in which his now deceased Father reveals to Norman how the world really works and that the true way forward is right in front of him if he can only see it.

Norman returns and is joined by the diverse bunch of characters he has met during the course of his journey, and reveals a new found determination to put things right.
